재외한국학교 교장의 직무역량모델 개발
이 연구의 목적은 재외한국학교 교장의 직무역량모델을 개발하는 것이다. 이를 위하 여 본 연구에서는 Spencer와 Spencer(1993)와 Lucia와 Lepsinger(1999)의 연구절차를 응 용하여 이용하였다. 문헌고찰, 행동사건인터뷰와 심층인터뷰, 포커스그룹 인터뷰, 전문가 패널 내용타당도 검증 등을 통해 최종 직무역량모델을 개발하였다. 재외한국학교 교장의 직무역량모델은 7개 직무영역, 22개 직무역량, 98개의 행동지표로 구성되었다. 주요 연구 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 재외한국학교 교장의 ‘현지 교육공동체 구성원 간의 원활한 의사소통’ 역량이 중요하다. 둘째, 재외한국학교 교장은 학교 구성원뿐만 아니라 현지 사 회의 공동체 구성원에게 비전을 제시하고 공유하는 역량을 발휘해야 한다. 셋째, 재외한 국학교 교장에게는 교육전문가로서 교육수요자의 요구 및 학교여건을 반영하여 학교를 이끌어갈 수 있는 ‘특성화된 학교경영 실행 능력’과 ‘현지 수요자 중심의 교육 운영’ 역량이 요구된다.
Development of a Job Competency Model for Overseas Korean School Principals
The purpose of this study was to develop a job competency model for principals of overseas Korean schools. To accomplish this, we adapted the research procedures of Spencer and Spencer (1993) and Lucia and Lepsinger (1999). The final job competency model was developed through a literature review, behavioral event interviews, in-depth interviews, focus group interviews, and expert panel content validation. The job competency model for principals of overseas Korean schools consists of 7 job areas, 22 job competencies, and 98 behavioral indicators. The main conclusions of the study are as follows. First, it is important for the principal to be able to communicate well with the local educational community. Second, the principal must be able to articulate and share a vision with not only school members but also community members in the local community. Lastly, as an education professional, the principal of a Korean school abroad is required to have the ability to lead the school by reflecting the needs of education consumers and school conditions, as well as the ability to implement specialized school management and operate education centered on local consumers.
