예비 신랑, 신부가 결혼 준비과정에서 경험하는 무형식 학습 탐색
본 연구는 예비 신랑, 신부가 결혼 준비과정에서 어떤 학습을 경험하는지 살펴보 고, 그 경험이 무형식 학습으로서 어떤 의미를 지니는지를 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 결 혼식을 두 달 내로 앞둔 성인 남녀 6명을 대상으로 개별 면담을 통한 질적 연구를 진행하였다. 연구 결과, 결혼 준비과정은 예비 신랑과 신부가 ‘배우자로서 상대방의 특성을 이해, 새로운 관계 속에서 요구되는 각자의 역할 인식과 수용, 부부로 함께 공동체를 형성해가는 우리 의식의 태동’을 통해 새로운 가족 문화를 형성하기 위한 준비의 시간임을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 학습경험은 인생의 전환기를 앞둔 예비 신랑, 신부에게 재정비하고, 새로운 가족 관계를 형성할 준비를 하는 학습의 기회를 제공한다. 또한 이 과정은 형식적인 교육이 아닌 일상 속 경험을 통해 능동적으로 학습하며, 다양한 어려움에 직면하면서 비판적인 자기성찰을 통해 변화해가는 여정 이다. 이를 통해 자기주도적 학습과 전환학습으로서의 의미를 지닌다는 점을 발견할 수 있었다.
Exploring informal learning experiences of brides and grooms within the marriage preparation
This study explores the learning experiences of engaged couples during the marriage preparation process and examines the significance of these experiences as informal learning. To achieve this, a qualitative study was conducted through individual interviews with six adult men and women who were within two months of their wedding. The results of the study revealed that the process of preparing for marriage serves as a period during which the engaged couples prepare to form a new family culture. This is achieved through understanding each other's characteristics as partners, recognizing and accepting the roles required in the new relationship, and developing a sense of “us” as they build a community together as a married couple. These learning experiences provide engaged individuals—who are on the verge of a major life transition—with an opportunity to reorganize and prepare for new family relationships. Moreover, this process is not based on formal education but involves active learning through everyday experiences. As couples face various challenges, they undergo critical self-reflection and personal transformation. Thus, the process holds significance as both self-directed learning and transformative learning.
