토픽 모델링을 활용한 코로나19 시기 대학평생교육 현황 분석 - 뉴스 빅데이터를 중심으로 -
본 연구의 목적은 뉴스 빅데이터를 활용하여 코로나19 시기의 대학평생교육 현황을 살 펴보고 이를 바탕으로 대학평생교육이 나아가야 할 방향에 관한 시사점을 제공하는 것이 다. 이를 위해 2020년 2월 1일부터 2022년 2월 1일까지 신문·방송에 보도된 347건의 뉴스 를 수집하였으며, 이를 토픽 모델링 기법을 활용하여 키워드 분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구 의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학은 코로나19 영향으로 평생교육, 융합교육, 온라인교육 을 확대함으로써 미래교육으로 나아가고 있음을 확인하였다. 특히, 대학은 4차 산업혁명이 도래함에 따라 융합교육을 적극 추진하고 있었다. 또한, 코로나19로 평생교육 영역에서도 온라인교육이 크게 증가함에 따라 온라인 수업 관련 기술과 노하우를 축적한 사이버대학 이 주목을 받았고 정부는 한국형 온라인 공개강좌(K-MOOC)의 양적·질적 성장을 도모하 였다. 둘째, 코로나19 시기 비수도권 대학은 지역사회와의 협력을 강화하였다. 이들은 학 령인구 감소와 코로나19로 학생 모집의 어려움을 겪었으며, 지역사회는 심각한 청년 유출 문제를 경험하였다. 이에 비수도권 대학과 지역사회는 평생교육을 통해 코로나19로 인한 위기를 극복하고자 하였다. 마지막으로, 평생직업교육과 정부의 평생교육 지원사업에 관한 토픽도 중요하게 주목받았다. 코로나19와 4차 산업혁명의 영향으로 성인학습자의 직업전 환교육, 재취업교육 등에 대한 수요가 증가하였으며, 이에 따라 정부는 대학의 평생교육체 제 지원사업(LiFE)을 통해 일·학습 병행 재직자의 평생학습을 장려하고 있었다.
An analysis of the status of lifelong education in universities during the COVID-19 period.
This study aims to examine the current status of lifelong university education during the COVID-19 period using news big data and provide implications for the direction of lifelong university education. A total of 347 cases of news articles reported from February 1, 2020 to February 1, 2022 were collected and analyzed using topic modeling techniques, and keyword analysis. The findings of the present study confirmed that the universities were moving toward future education by expanding lifelong education, online education, and convergence education. The cyber universities, which accumulated technologies and know-how related to online classes were found to attract attention as online education increased significantly due to COVID-19. In addition, the government promoted quantitative and qualitative the growth of Korean online open lectures (K-MOOC). The findings also revealed that local universities strengthened cooperation with local communities. The universities, which suffered from a decrease of school-age population and the difficulty of recruiting students due to COVID-19, tried to overcome the crisis with the provision of lifelong education. Finally, topics on lifelong vocational education and the government's lifelong education support project also received important attention. Because of the influence of COVID-19 and the 4th Industrial Revolution, the demand for vocational education among adult learners increased, and the government was found to encourage lifelong learning for workers, provided through the University Lifelong Education System Support Project (LiFE).
